Five-Step Selection Checklist

  1. Function – fasten, flow, seal?
  2. Dimension – diameter, depth, tolerance, Ra.
  3. Material – steel, plastic, composite → tool match.
  4. Process – CNC drill/mill/tap, EDM, laser?
  5. Standard – ISO 273 (clearance), ISO 4762 (countersink), ASMEY14.5 (GD&T).
